Here’s what people say about Why can’t I do that?: “I was nervous about forgetting my way in dressage tests. Why Can’t I Do That? showed me how to relax and be calm and confident for my next test. My horse was calm too, he went better than ever and we won a rosette.”

“During some of the exercises the fact that I was really happy with my relationship with Chip became highlighted. Subsequently I noticed that most of my previous pre-competition nerves had become considerably dissipated, I think the workshop showed me how much trust my horse and I have in each other, which reduced the nerves.” Adrian and Chip

“The most useful part was learning to be more relaxed.”

Improve your mind

Coach-for-change, Gill Garside, and reknowned BHSI, Liza Faircloth, and got together to create a new approach using the power of our minds to work more closely with our horses. Gill also now works with professional Dressage rider and trainer, Rob Waine to help riders to increase their confidence and achieve their potential.

Trainer for the mind

Gill has been around horses for most of her life; she has owned her horse, Monty, for 17 years, he’s now 23 and happily retired after competing on a regular basis. After completing Positive Horsemanship courses, including working with six month old, wild Dartmoor pony foals, she took on her own youngster which she has trained herself. Gill is a coach and therapist assisting and facilitating her clients to make changes and personal development with hypnosis and intuitive communication therapies.

Trainers for riders

Rob Waine has ridden for many of the country’s leading riders including Sonia Webster, Nicola McGivern and Anna Ross Davies, Rob really has had a taste of what it is like to ride in high pressurised environments. He is currently training with Olympic Gold Medalists Carl Hester and Louise Spate. Rob has competed up to Prix St George and at Young Horse Championships including the Badminton Young Dressage Horse of the Future and the Shearwater National Dressage Championships. In 2013 Rob was crowned Novice and Elementary Central Regional Champion. Known for his sympathetic approach, Rob makes training straightforward, simple and most of all fun, guiding both horse and rider to achieve their full potential. He is based at Hammer & Harp Farm, Beaconsfield, South Buckinghamshire.

Liza is well known for her empathy with both horse and rider and this is the philosophy behind all of her training. Her background is in Showjumping and Dressage and she worked up through the exam system to achieving the BHSI in 2003. She has worked with many top trainers, has established and run top BHS examination centers and livery yards and has been training riders and exam students at all levels from beginners upwards for over 22 years. As a testimony to her unique training approach many of her clients have been with her during her entire career as a freelance trainer.
